A pair of western Iowa firemen are getting their jobs back. Two Council Bluffs firefighters who were fired because of a practical joke have reached an agreement that will allow them to return to the force. In February, David Pryor and Michael Hasse made a vulgar sign and placed it on a co-worker’s car as a joke. No one complained, and other firefighters thought it was funny, but the chief was not amused — he suspended the men, and later fired them. Pryor and Hasse appealed, and have now worked out an agreement in which they’ll forgo three months of pay and perform 240 hours of community service. In return, they’ll be allowed to re-join the force on May 25th.
