An elderly Linn County man is hospitalized after a head-on crash Thursday with a garbage truck near the town of Walker.Authorities say the operator had pulled the garbage truck across both lanes on a Linn County road to back into a private drive, when 81-year-old Grant McKee of Walker came along the road at a high speed and hit the truck. McKee was transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City. The garbage truck driver, 30-year-old Vaugh Huseman of Monticello was charged with failing to yield to oncoming traffic. He wasn’t hurt in the crash, and investigation’s continuing.
