Memorabilia from 4-H Clubs all across the nation is now on display in central Iowa’s Hamilton County, marking the club’s 100th anniversary. Fern Carlson is co-owner of Country Relics Village near Stanhope. She started the collection of 4-H uniforms after finding one similar to the 4-H softball uniform her husband wore decades ago. They put out a plea and got uniforms from all but one of the uniform the girls have worn over the years. She says they still don’t have a two-piece uniform from the 1960’s.Carlson says other 4-H artifacts are on display too, not just uniforms. The collection includes a 4-H cookbook from Hawaii, medals from Oregon and 1952 postage stamps. The 4-H tribute is open daily. For more information, log on to “www.countryrelicsvillage.com”.
