Iowa’s two U-S Senators are in agreement that the nation’s top law enforcement agencies haven’t taken the necessary steps to change their ways since September 11th. Senator Chuck Grassley, a republican, says the FBI and CIA are still letting turf wars get into the way of attempts to share vital information.Grassley is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that’s trying to determine why terrorist information wasn’t shared before 9-11. Grassley says the public deserves to know what happens, and he says he still believes there needs to be a commission to investigate what happens. Iowa’s other Senator, Democrat Tom Harkin, concurs with Grassley.Harkin says Grassley is on the right track, as he doesn’t believe there’s sufficient coordination or accountability among the agencies. Harkin, a democrat, also wants more investigation into the issue. He says there needs to be a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the situation.
