Two Quad City men who made radio station billboards out of their heads are now putting their heads together in court. If someone offered you big bucks to put a permanent tattoo on your forehead, would you do it? David Winkleman of Davenport and Richard Goddard Jr. of Rock Island would – in fact, they did! But now they’re unhappy. On November 29, 2000, Ben Stomberg, a disk jockey on Davenport FM station KORB, allegedly announced that the station would pay $30,000 a year for five years to anyone who would put a permanent tattoo of the station logo on his forehead. Winkelman and Goddard did just that. They say the station paid for their tattoos and even took pictures of them for its Website. But they say KORB refused to pay the $30,000 per year. So they’re now suing Cumulus Broadcasting and Stomberg in Scott County District Court. Cumulus officials say Stomberg was just making a practical joke. No trial date has been set.
