The former director of the YMCA in Creston and Greenfield also had some problems in Ottumwa. David Henley was fired from his job as director of the Y-M-C-As in Creston and Greenfield last week. Henley was director of the “Y” in Ottumwa several years ago when funds were reportedly put into the wrong accounts. Henley disappeared for several days after the discrepancy in Ottumwa was discovered, but was later found and the accounts were righted. Henley was fired from his latest “Y” job after the board of directors found he’d misrepresented debts, and the “Y” has a more than 100-thousand dollar deficit. An Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation spokesman says the incident in Ottumwa’s now being reviewed in light of the situation in Creston and Greenfield.
