Iowans who want to learn more about the unusual land formations on the western end of our state can attend a free educational workshop today and tomorrow. Gloria Kistner is helping organize the Loess Hills Prairie Seminar. She says attendees will learn about the history, geology and culture of the region.The glaciers that left the Loess Hills in western Iowa melted about 12-thousand B-C. The only other place in the world with geology similar to the hills of western Iowa is in China. This is the 26th annual edition of the seminar program, which Kistner says includes a variety of workshops, field trips and programs.The events are scheduled today and tomorrow at the Loess Hills Wildlife Area in Onawa.
