A congressional hearing opens today on alleged intelligence failures before the September 11th attacks and an Iowa Senator says he’ll be there to protect a “whistleblower” at the F-B-I. Minneapolis-based agent Coleen Rowley -may- testify on allegations of careerism and a “culture of fear” at the F-B-I which may have helped the terrorists succeed. Senator Chuck Grassley says he wants to talk to Rowley on a regular basis to ensure she’s not hurt economically or professionally by the F-B-I brass. Grassley says “I’m gonna’ be watching this and they’ll have to deal with me if they try any sort of retaliation.”Grassley says there are many legitimate questions that have to be answered about the terrorists and how they carried out their plot on nine-eleven, to best prevent it from happening again.
