There’s a new number one for the third straight week in Class 4A in the Radio Iowa/Coaches Association baseball poll. Des Moines Lincoln has started the season undefeated and the Rails moved up from the eighth spot to become the new number one, replacing West Des Moines Valley, which dropped to sixth. Council Bluffs Lewis Central flip-flopped with Dubuque Wahlert to fill the second and third spots, followed by Marshalltown and Ames to round out the top five. Cedar Rapids Xavier remains on top of the 3A poll, with Oelwein and Davenport Assumption continuing in the two and three slots. Dallas-Center Grimes climbs up from ninth place to fourth and Knoxville rounds out the top five. In 2A, Emmetsburg and Dyersville Beckman hand on to one and two respectively, with Albia moving up to third from the fifth spot — Cascade holds at number four and Knoxville jumps up one spot to round out the top five. The top four teams are the same this week in 1A. They’re led by Mason City Newman, then its Granville Spalding, Lansing Kee and East Buchanan. West Harrison fills out the top five.
