Legislator to probe dam water release at Lake Delhi

A probe is being launched after complaints about the release of water from the Maquoketa River Dam at Lake Delhi during the flooding. State Representative Gene Manternach, of Cascade, will launch an investigation after being contacted by a former legislator from Monticello and other area residents who’ve expressed frustration after suffering extensive property damage in last week’s flooding. Critics say the dam’s operators released too much water at once, claiming a more even distribution of the water would have minimized damage downstream.
