The Iowa Lottery’s replacing its “Powerball — The Game Show” with a new one. Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer says the television promotion’s been a popular one.Contestants got to go to Hollywood to tape the show and tour the sights, but Iowans surveyed said they’d rather go to Vegas.People drawn to be contestants on the TV show will get airfare, three nights for two people at the Venetian Hotel and Casino, 750-dollars in spending money, and a chance to compete on the game show for a million bucks. The television program will pit contestants in games of skill and chance for their viewers back home in Iowa. She says the games will have a “Vegas feel” like contests of cards and dice as well as word games. The Iowa Lottery will roll out the new “Powerball Instant Millionaire” scratch game and television contest October 5th, and the T-V show will air weekly on Saturday evenings just like its predecessor.
