Softball coach hits 900 victories

An Iowa High School softball coach reached a milestone this past week. East Marshal’s Mike Vint recorded his 900th victory Tuesday night. Vint says all the wins are special, but this one did bring back more memories of past teams.Vint’s 900-253 record puts him fifth on the all-time win list for active coaches. He never expected to rack up so many wins when he started out. He says he just wanted to be successful and get a team to the state tournament.Vint credits the players for allowing him to do so well. He says he’s had some top-notch kids who’ve worked hard.Vint has taken five teams to state in his 19 years. His current team is rated fourth in class 1A.
