A busy eastern Iowa roadway will be the focus of a law enforcement crackdown later this week.If your travels take you to eastern Iowa on Friday, don’t misbehave if you drive on U.S. Highway 61. More than 150 officers from 21 state, city and county agencies will be conducting a special traffic safety enforcement project on that major north-south route. Their efforts will stretch from Keokuk to Dubuque, a distance of 188 miles. Officers say they’ll target impaired driving, seat belt and child restraint use, stop sign and stop light violations, speeding and driving without a license. U.S. 61 runs through Lee, Des Moines, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Clinton, Jackson and Dubuque counties.
