Heavy rain over north-central Iowa overnight brought flash flooding. Jeff Wallenfang, a National Weather Service forecaster, says parts of Cerro Gordo and Winnebago counties got two-to-four inches of rain.Some isolated areas in Cerro Gordo and Winnebago counties saw four-to-eight inches of rain. Wallenfang says the storm system stayed in place for a long time, redeveloping and dumping rain.A doctor’s office in Forest City likely won’t open until noon. The Mercy Family Clinic apparently had a drainage problem during the heavy downpour and was swamped. Wallenfang says other parts of the state may see strong storms forming in a typical June pattern.Heavy rain is also reported as far south as Marshalltown and in other areas including Webster City, Eldora, Melbourne and Iowa Falls.
