The game is still two months away, but the promotion has begun already for the Eddie Robinson Classic kickoff football game involving Iowa State University and Florida State. In a conference call with reporters Tuesday, Robinson talked about the game and praised the two teams who’ll play in Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.Florida State coach Bobby Bowden says he’s started paying attention to the Cyclones and watched their bowl game this year against Alabama.He says playing in the Midwest is something new for his east-coast team.Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says this is something new for his team and the school as they’ve never played in a preseason game.Bowden says he’s discovered Kansas City is going to be like a home game to ISU with all the tickets they’ve sold.Bowden praised Dan McCarney for the job he’s done in turning around the ISU program.McCarney continued the mutual admiration, saying Bowden and Florida State have been an example for all coaches. The game is August 24th.
