Davenport police have asked the Scott County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a complaint filed against Davenport Mayor Charlie Brooke. 36-year-old David Jensen says he was talking to Alderman Wayne Hean following the June 19th council meeting. Jensen, who admits he was partially blocking a doorway, says Brooke shoved him and called him an obscene name as he went by. Hean says he didn’t see the alleged shove, but he DID hear the naughty word. Brooke, an attorney who campaigned under his high school football nickname, Moose, took office in January. He says he hasn’t seen the police report yet, so he isn’t talking about the incident. Police asked the county to investigate to avoid a possible conflict of interest.
