Grassley says Homeland Security plan is flawed

Senator Charles Grassley says President Bush’s proposed Department of Homeland Security has a major flaw.Grassley says the “cyber-world” will be the battlefield of the future, and cyber security needs to a higher priority for the new Homeland Security agency. Grassley says there needs to be a better-coordinated plan.Grassley says “turf battles” among federal agencies which fight cyber-crime are compromising the effort. Grassley has written a letter to U-S Attorney General John Ashcroft on the issue. Ashcroft will be in Cedar Rapids this afternoon to meet with local lawmen and women who’re working on an anti-terrorism task force. President Bush this morning urged Congress to debate his Homeland Security plan before the break Congress will take in August.
