An Oskaloosa man is in jail after allegedly attacking a Sheriff’s deputy after being stopped for speeding.Mahaska County Deputy Sheriff Matt McCain had stopped a car Saturday driven by 32-year-old Tony Vos of Oskaloosa. Vos refused to sign the ticket and attacked the deputy when the officer attempted to arrest him. A passerby help pull Vos away from deputy McCain and the deputy released his dog, who bit Vos. Deputy McCain became overheated during the scuffle and passed out. Vos and deputy McCain were both treated and released. Vos is charged with assaulting a peace office with the intent of inflicting serious injury. Other charges are pending.
