Investigators in northwest Iowa have identified a man killed in the crash of an ultralight airplane yesterday. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s office says 47-year-old Gary Eugene Marsh of West Des Moines was flying the ultralight plane when it crashed and burned a mile and-a-half west of Cherokee yesterday. Marsh had taken off from the LeMars airport shortly before the accident happened at 11:30 Sunday morning. It’s believed Marsh was following the route of RAGBRAI, which had an overnight stop in Cherokee Sunday.
