The temporary filter at the Storm Lake water treatment plant is working and repairs are underway to one of the damaged filters. Major industries in Storm Lake were closed last Friday after a second filter at the treatment plant failed. City administrator John Call says the temporary filter is providing enough water to keep local industry operating. Permanent repairs are being made to the filter, which Call hopes will be back on line by the end of the month. The city has asked industries to conserve water as they are able… and mandatory water conservation measures put into effect last week continue. They include no outdoor watering and no residential car washing.
