Seven years ago today, an arsonist set fire to the old All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart — a blaze that made state history. The group working to restore the old church will hold a grand re-opening of the chapel wing Saturday at ten A-M. Project Restore is rebuilding the historic landmark with funds provided by grants and contributions from people all over the world. The next step of the restoration project is the restoration of the west side of the building. The church was heavily damaged when Charles Willard set fire to the building in 1995. The blaze remains the most costly fire in Iowa history.
