Raymond Boothe, accused of killing one child and trying to kill himself and three other kids, appeared in court today in Kansas. The father of Levi Boothe was charged today with premeditated first-degree murder in Leavenworth County district court. The Lawrence Journal-World newspaper reports the 34-year-old from Cameron, Missouri, stabbed his son Levi in the chest and back and left him on the Kansas Turnpike. The report indicates sometime after that Levi was hit and killed by a passing vehicle about three miles east of Lawrence. Leavenworth attorney Gary Fuller was appointed to represent Boothe. A hearing will be held to determine his competency to stand trial, and no bond’s been set as Boothe is undergoing a mental evaluation.
