Democratic legislative leaders have outlined what they call a “plan for progress” which they promise to enact if Democrats win in November. House Democratic Leader Dick Myers of Iowa City says instead of playing a “blame game” with Republicans, Democrats decided to tell voters what they were for. Democrats say they’ll restore cuts to education and ensure a 30-million dollar program to reduce class sizes in the early elementary grades continues. Democrats also say they’ll push to ensure “character education” is part of every school curriculum. Myers says good character education encourages public service in the community.
