A national farm leader says Congress needs to help farmers who’ve had weather woes with disaster assistance.American Farm Bureau president Bob Stallman spoke last night in LeMars at the Plymouth County Farm Bureau’s annual meeting. Stallman spoke out against the new Iowa law, which established new regulations for livestock confinements.Iowa’s new law will give county boards of supervisors a voice in where large confinements may or may not be built, although state officials will have the final say. Stallman says the Farm Bureau wants uniform, national regulations rather than having each state set up its own rules. Stallman is a rice and cattle producer from Texas.
