Some two thousand firefighters and their spouses will converge on Monticello today for the 124th annual Iowa Firemen’s Convention, which runs through Sunday.Firefighters will face off in a variety of contests, like seeing how fast they can put together sections of fire hose. Activities also include golf, bowling, dances and water balloon fights. There will also be a ceremony honoring firefighters who died on September 11th.
