More West Nile human cases have turned up in Iowa. The Centers for Disease Control so far has only confirmed the first suspected case, the southeast Iowa Lee County man who’s all better now. But the same tests that detected his case turned up a second victim in adjacent Henry County. This week the state public health department announced two more – another Henry County woman and a woman in northern Polk County. All four are in their early fifties and health department officials say all are either recovering or completely over the disease. Iowa hasn’t had any fatal cases of the mosquito borne disease in humans though it’s killed several horses.
