The Iowa Department of Economic Development is hoping to make an impression on foreign visitors as the 2002 Farm Progress Show opens in central Iowa today. Thousands of people are expected to attend the Farm Progress Show in Alleman. Phil Thomas of the I-D-E-D says they’ve set up an International Business Center.Thomas says the center will include literature in several languages touting the benefits of investing in Iowa. They’ll also give out information on other places to visit while in Iowa.Thomas says it’s important to make and keep the international connections as the agricultural industry in Iowa is linked throughout the world.This is the first time in 15 years the show has been in central Iowa.
