Coe visits Central on Saturday in a matchup of unbeatens in Iowa Conference play. Coe leads the conference in offense but coach Eric Raeburn says the defense has been outstanding as well. He says they’ve done a good job of stopping the run and reacting when teams pass. Raeburn says the success on offense starts with line play, which has opened up some running lanes and protected the quarterback. Central coach Rich Kacmarynski says Coe has the look of a title contender. He says seeing them on video, they’ve done a good job on offense and deffense. Kacmarynski says Coe has shown major improvement on defense with their overall team speed.It’s homecoming in Oskaloosa as William Penn plays host to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday. Penn coach Jim Cox expects this matchup to become a good rivalry. He says anytime you have an in-state game, it helps with recruiting.Cox says Wesleyan will throw the ball all over the field. He says they’ve already played a team that’s done the same thing, so they should be ready.
