In high school football, Adair-Casey is the top ranked eight-man team and the Bombers are just thankful to have a homecoming game tonight. Iowa Christian Academy forfeited tonight’s matchup citing a lack of players and early in the week Melcher-Dallas agreed play. Adair-Casey coach Ron Peck who says it is nice to have a game and a quality opponent as well. Although he says it would be nice to have an opponent that isn’t so tough. He says he’s glad the game won’t impact their playoff potential, while still giving them a good game.In class A, the top two teams in district-two collide as fourth-ranked West Bend-Mallard visits number-eight Graettinger. West Bend-Mallard coach Koy Goodchild says Graettinger has shown improvement this season in part because of added experience. Goodchild say both teams will employ similar styles with both trying to run the ball.In class 4A, top-ranked Cedar Falls visits fifth-rated Cedar Rapids Washington in a battle of unbeatens. Washington coach Paul James says the Tigers have a lot of weapons on offense and defense. James says the Warriors will have to match Cedar Falls’ ability to make plays.
