UNI coach says loss doesn’t end title chase

Northern Iowa coach Mark Farley says the Panthers need to bounce back in a hurry if they hope to stay in the Gateway Conference title hunt. The Panthers opened defense of their league crown with a 31-12 loss at home to Western Kentucky and this week are on the road to play Southern Illinois. UNI coach Mark Farley who says the Panthers can still make a run at the conference title. He says everyone in the league has a loss except Southern and Illinois State. He says they have a chance to give them both a loss. He says his team is not broke, it just needs some mending to get back on track.Southern Illinois is unbeaten in the Gateway after a 54-52 win over Western Illinois. Farley says S-I-U is the top team in the league and his team has its back to the wall.
