Winnebago Industries of Forest City has had record-setting revenue and earnings for the company’s fourth quarter and end of the fiscal year. Revenues of just over 220-million dollars topped last year’s results by an increase of 25-percent. Net income for the fourth quarter was 16-point-four-million dollars, almost a full one-million more than last year’s income of 15-and-a-half-million. Winnebago Industries Chairman of the Board Bruce Hertzke says that he is satisfied with the revenue and earnings increase, in spite of the sudden downturns of the economy. He says they’ve been fortunate to see the business hit record earnings and record revenues, the highest in their 44-year history. Hertzke says that product acceptance of Winnebago RV’s has increased, generating more income. He credits redesign of many of their products for helping them gain market share.Contrary to popular belief, he their market age range has expanded from the usual expectations. People in their thirties, forties, and even healthy eighty-somethings are jumping on the Winnebago bandwagon. Hertzke also predicted that the new plant in Charles City, which is scheduled to start production in early Spring of 2003, should boost revenue increases even more. Hertzke pointed out that their production couldn’t have met the demands without the help of dedicated employees who have been putting in overtime at the Forest City plant since January of this year.
