It’s said rain, sleet and snow won’t keep postal carriers from their rounds — but fire certainly will. Fire destroyed the post office in the western Iowa town of Little Sioux on Tuesday. The fire broke out around 4 P.M. and burned into the night. A nearby repair shop and a former doctor’s office were also damaged. No injuries are reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. It’s said to be unlikely the post office will be rebuilt. First-class mail was saved but the rest burned. The Harrison County town has about 250 residents.
