That four-letter word, dreaded by many, has crept into our early fall forecast. National Weather Service meteorologist Peter Corrigan says “snow” is a possibility today, but primarily across the state’s upper third. The snow will likely be in northern Iowa though central Iowa may get a few flakes this afternoon, most of which will melt on contact. Corrigan says some isolated parts of Iowa may see some snow accumulation, such as extreme Northwest Iowa.While it may seem like it’s rushing the season, Corrigan says the forecast isn’t out of line. He says it may be a little early, but it’s the time of year when you can get snow.He says the forecast indicates a chance temperatures may be back up in the lower-60s by the weekend, but the next several days will be quite cold.
