Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller is refusing to release any additional information into the investigation of the State Fire Marshal’s office. The Department of Public Safety says the A-G’s office is investigating two employees who allegedly forged the dates on safety inspection reports. Miller says he can’t give out other details, such as a motive for forging the papers. He says the investigations have to be done in confidence, and no information will be released unless there are court filings. Miller also would not say how close the investigation is to wrapping up. Miller only says it will take a little time to sort through everything. The Department of Public Safety released a one page statement on the issue later Thursday.
