One of the world’s top experts on hunger issues is in northeast Iowa today to speak at the International Health Symposium in Cedar Falls. Michele Yehieli is organizing the event at the University of Northern Iowa. Yehieli says Dr. Per (pair) Pinstrup-Anderson is the featured speaker on the topic of world hunger and malnutrition. She says Pinstrup-Anderson is the past director of the International Food Policy Research Institute.Pinstrup-Anderson won the 2001 World Food Prize. Yehieli says the symposium is being sponsored by the U-N-I Global Health Corps, which was founded on the campus in 1996.Today’s symposium is free and open to anyone. It starts at 12:15 P.M. at Seerley Hall and should run about an hour.
