Secret Service agents will talk with Iowa officials next month about preventing violence within their schools. The Secret Service seminar will be conducted at the Iowa Association of School Boards annual convention in Des Moines. Convention manager Stacey Nay says the seminar will provide lots of valuable information to school officials about safety.The Secret Service will review the results of its study of recent school shootings and talk about the behavior of the students who became violent. The federal agency has come up with a set of recommendations it believes can prevent violence in schools. Nay says the topic’s important because school board members are interested in the safety and health of students.Senator Charles Grassley helped arrange the seminar, which is open to both school officials and law enforcement. It will be held at the downtown Des Moines Marriott from one to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21st.
