The Iowa Hawkeyes face a Big Ten showdown at eighth-ranked Michigan on Saturday. Michigan coach Lloyd Carr says while there is plenty of football remaining after this week the Wolverines know there is a lot riding on the outcome. He says they’ve always tried to approach the season one-game-at-a-time.Carr says while Iowa quarterback Brad Banks can make plays by running it is his passing that has given the Hawks even more firepower. He says the difference in Banks and other mobile quarterbacks, is that Banks has a great arm and the ability to throw accurately off play action. Carr says this Iowa team is similar to some of the best Hawkeye teams under Hayden Fry. Carr says that’s probably due to Ferentz’s work under Fry as an offensive line coach. He says Fry’s teams featured strong offensive lines that played well together.
