Boss prosecutors want Michigan adoption records

Prosecutors in the Donald Boss murder trial will subpoena records from a Michigan adoption agency. Boss and his wife Lisa had seven biological children and adopted three more while they lived in Michigan. All three were “special needs” children with developmental or behavioral problems, and the Boss family got money from the state of Michigan for the care of those kids. There were ten children when the family moved to the small town of Remsen in Plymouth County three years ago. Less than a year later, relatives noticed one seemed to be missing, and local authorities began asking questions. After investigators dug up the basement floor in their rented house and found the body of ten-year-old Timothy, Donald was arrested and Lisa Boss placed in a women’s shelter, required to stay as a material witness in the case. Now District Judge Michael Walsh has ordered copies of the original annual report of adoption program for Timothy Boss. That report, dated November 2000 and signed by Donald and Lisa Boss, is due in Plymouth County district court by next Wednesday.
