The 13th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes look to take a big step toward the Big Ten title with a visit to eighth-rated Michigan. Iowa has already won at Penn State and coach Kirk Ferentz hopes that experience is a plus against the Wolverines. He says anytime you play on the road, success tends to carry over and lets the team focus on what it takes to be successful.Ferentz says the Hawks will need to play a smart game at Michigan and says that has been a strength of Brad Banks. He says Banks has been making good decisions and making plays that help the team.Michigan is a tradition-rich program but Ferentz says the Hawks won’t be playing tradition on Saturday. He says they’re at the point where they don’t have to be in awe of anybody and can compete with anybody if they prepare well. The 17th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones look to bounce back from a loss at Oklahoma but have a difficult chore at seventh-rated Texas. Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says his team is poised to bounce back. McCarney says while the final stretch of the schedule is difficult it also provides opportunities to finish off with a great season. McCarney says the Cyclones don’t want to have the feeling they had after the Oklahoma game. He says they want to have a proud feeling when the game is over. He says they felt that way after the first seven games, but not after the last game.
