An autopsy is planned today on the body of a Des Moines-area woman whose death is being labeled by authorities as suspicious following a weekend house fire. 44-year-old Phyllis Bishop hadn’t been seen for several days and it was suspected she’d died in a fire that heavily damaged her house near Norwalk in Warren County on Saturday afternoon — but the body wasn’t found inside. With the help of search dogs, Bishop’s body was discovered Monday in a field some 200 yards away from her house. Investigators won’t say if it was obvious how she died, but they have said her death is suspicious and the housefire was likely a case of arson.
