Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz expects running back Fred Russell to be back in the line-up when the ninth-ranked Hawkeyes host Northwestern on Saturday. Russell missed last weekend’s 20-3 victory over Wisconsin with an injured hand and Ferentz says he’s feeling a lot better and should be able to hang onto the ball. Ferentz says running back Jermelle Lewis will be available for Saturday’s game. Lewis was arrested following a fight in Iowa City last Saturday night. Ferentz says he’s going to let the courts decide what happens, as he says there are “a couple of alleged” things that’re happening. Ferentz says they expect a challenge from the Wildcats as he says they play with great emmotion.Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says the Cyclones are healthy and fresh as they head down the home stretch of the seasaon. The Cyclones visit 12th rated Kansas State on Saturday and with victories in their next two games would win the Big-12 North Division title.McCarney says like the series with Nebraska, until this season, it has been dominated by K-State.McCarney says the Cyclones control their own destiny and realize two difficult challenges lie ahead, but there’s a lot left to accomplish.
