A weekend traffic stop in northwest Iowa led to the biggest methamphetamine bust ever in Clay County. Deputies stopped 38-year-old Michelle Knudson of Linn Grove early Saturday and arrested her for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and when they searched her home officers say they found three pounds of methamphetamine, about 18-thousand dollars cash, marijuana and several weapons. 42-year-old Douglas Stoermer (stormer) was arrested there, and he and the woman were charged with possession of meth and marijuana with intent to deliver. The pair was booked on 141-thousand dollars each and officers say the meth has a “street value” over 150-thousand dollars. This is the biggest meth seizure in Clay County since 1996 and authorities say they expect more arrests. The FBI helped local authorities with the case.
