The Northern Iowa football team will close out their season on Saturday as they host Southwest Missouri State at the UNI-Dome. A season which began with lofty expectations will finish, win or lose on Saturday, with the program’s first losing record since 1988. Panther coach Mark Farley says a season without the playoffs is a disappointing one at U-N-I. Both teams go into Saturday’s game with 1-5 records in the Gateway Conference and 4-6 overall. Kickoff Saturday is at 5:05. U-N-I is 4-6 overall and just 1-5 in the Gateway Conference.
