A record setting performance opened the state high school championship games in the UNI-DOME. The Manning Bulldogs set a state championship record with 52 points and eight touchdowns enroute to winning the Class A State Championship. Manning beat Fredericksburg 52-0 in a game that was called with 4:28 to play in the 4th quarter. Manning coach Floyd Forman says he didn’t expect such a lop-sided outcome, but he says his team held a size advantage and was able to control the line of scrimmage. Manning finished the season with a 12-1 record and its first-ever state football championship. Fredericksburg finished the season 10-3.
