An Iowa advocacy group is issuing its annual warning to parents to be careful when selecting toys for you kids this Christmas. Nick Rugen of the Iowa Public Interest Research Group says one of the things they’re warning parents about are noisy toys. He says the Consumer Product Safety Commission doesn’t have noise standards for toys, and that’s one of the things they want to see changed. Rugen says the group would also like stricter tests to see if toys present a choking hazard. He says the noisy toys can cause permanent hearing damage and parents need to keep an eye on kids.Rugen says you should check all toys for safety before taking them homeBe aware of things with pieces that may come off and be a choking hazard.
