Plymouth County sheriff’s deputies testified during yesterday’s first day of the Donald Boss murder trial. The Remsen man is accused of killing his ten-year-old adopted son. Boss has implicated his wife, Lisa, in the slaying. Deputy Jeff Te Brink told prosecutor Chuck Thoman the boy’s mother said her son was in another state, with a relative:Kentucky authorities confirmed, the child wasn’t there. The body was later found buried in the basement of the Boss home. Defense attorney Mike Williams wanted to know how Lisa Boss reacted to authorities on the subject of her adopted son — who was then listed as missing.Jurors heard a tape-recording of a sheriff’s department interview with Donald Boss. He said the child had run away when he paid for gas on a trip to Michigan. In the same interview, Boss said he’d told his wife he’d taken the child to Boystown, Nebraska.
