After a day of uncertainty it appears Iowa will be headed to a B-C-S bowl. E-S-P-N and College Football News-dot-com are reporting that B-C-S officials have decided that no matter what happens this weekend the Hawkeyes will be an at-large selection. Just which bowl that will be is not clear, yet. Officials with the Iowa Alumni Association are scrambling to put together Orange Bowl travel packages just in case the Hawkeyes end up playing in the January second game. Alumni Association vice-president Chris Bavolack says the original travel packages offered at the end of the season were designed to be flexible.Bavolack says it has been a hectic time in the last couple of days trying to work out the details for a trip to South Florida as the Orange Bowl was added to the list of options.Bavolack says an advantage of the Association’s package is the chartered flights, which alleviate the possibility of booking a flight that you may not need.Bavolack says there is still a chance to be part of the trip no matter which bowl the Hawks eventually play in. The Chicago Tribune reported that Orange Bowl officials talked with officials at the Sun Bowl about how many fans follow the Hawkeyes. Bavolack says they have also discussed that subject with officials in the Iowa Athletic Department.
