Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says playing in the Orange Bowl should help the Hawkeye’s recruiting efforts but how much is difficult to gauge. It certainly won’t hurt Iowa’s recruiting efforts in Florida. Several current Hawks, including quarterback Brad Banks, are natives of the sunshine state. He says they’ve done well in Florida. although he says it won’t impact this year’s recruiting, it will make an impact down the line. He says going to a B-C-S Bowl helps the recruiting overall. The third-ranked Hawkeyes take an 11-1 record into the January second Orange Bowl against fifth rated U-S-C.
