With the new year comes a new Iowa Travel Guide. Tens of thousands have been printed and are ready for mailing to out-of-state visitors and to Iowans who stay in-state for their vacations and weekend get-aways. Nancy Landess, spokeswoman for the Iowa Travel Office, says there are a few changes in this year’s edition, including a big new attraction in northwest Iowa.There’s a new museum in Sioux City that features Lewis and Clark as 2003 begins the bicentennial celebration of the explorers’ expedition. Their keel boat is on the cover of the Travel Guide. Landess says a new attraction in northeast Iowa, the Grand Harbor Resort, is also listed in the new edition.Tourism is a four-point-three billion dollar industry in Iowa that employs 61-thousand people.
