The Loras College women are in the midst of the Iowa Conference title chase heading into as pair of home games this weekend. Loras is 6-1 in the league race under first-year coach Larry Lawler and stand 11-3 overall. He says they’re playing good team defense, but need to improve on their rebounding.Loras is yielding only 39-percent shooting and Lawler feels that is the most important defensive stat.Lawler feels the schedule is favorable the rest of the way, as seven out of the next nine games are at home.Loras plays league leading Simpson on Saturday night but Lawler says they must first focus on tomorrow night’s game with Central.
